ADVANCED FOUNDATIONS IN APPLIED NEUROSCIENCE

Self-Paced Options

What Is The Self-Paced Format?

In one word: Flexibility.

This is the exact same program as the cohort version of the Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience program (still in a small group setting, still with plenty of time for Q&A and interaction). The same high quality content, same materials, same valuable live discussions to process together, interact, and explore with other students and faculty - but it gives you much greater flexibility.

Why This Format?

There are obvious benefits for studying with a consistent cohort in sync. However, if for you the cohort experience is less of a priority and you appreciate being able to start when it works with your schedule and attending sessions at your own learning pace, then this format may be a better fit for you.

What Do You Need to Know?

Unlike the more structured format of the cohort-based option, self-paced options allow you to join live Q&A & discussion sessions to explore applications based on your availability and progress. The live "drop-in" Q&A/discussion application sessions are:

  • Held multiple time a month: Typically offered by-weekly to accommodate busy schedules (since most coaches and change facilitators in this program are experienced professionals, they tend to be quite busy with work and life, and some appreciate the drop-in format).

  • Accommodates different time zones and schedules: Multiple sessions are available so you can attend based on your time zone (you can pick a different time slot each time you attend).

  • Highly application-oriented (if your questions require an elaborate exploration of a specific case study, we may invite you to schedule your free 1-on-1 bonus session).

  • 90 minute long and based on your progress (please see more details in the schedule section below).

  • Recorded and available for your review. A minimum engagement in 12 sessions is required to qualify for ICF CCE credit (of which a minimum attendance of 6 live sessions is required).

How Does It Work?

  • Start anytime: You can register to start self-paced options every month (typically mid-month).

  • Study at your own pace: You can engage with the online modules at your own pace, based on your learning style, your schedule, and your preferences.

  • Attend live sessions with complete flexibility: You can join live Q&A & discussion sessions when you have questions, wish to discuss applications, and based on your progress and availability.

  • Bonus 1-on-1 Q&A session: In addition to participating in the above live sessions, we can often accommodate time for dedicated 1-on-1 sessions with a KCI Certifying Partner. You may use these bonus sessions to explore specific applications which are relevant to your work in more depth (can be used at any point during the program).

If you prefer the self-paced format, this may be an opportune time to join.

While the cohort version of this program has been running for nearly two decades, we only started testing the self-paced format in early 2024. We are still learning from your feedback and improving (the content is solid, but we want to perfect the delivery in this new format).

Consider joining us while we are in our Beta phase and "debugging" this new self-paced format and enjoy our discounted rates for this year.

"After almost 17 years practicing as an ICF trained and certified coach and 12 years as a practicing Organizational Development practitioner...I didn't "get it" until I came to Reut at KCI. I thought I understood the neuroscientific principles of change but I was missing a key piece and now that I have access to advanced applied neuroscience, it's a whole different story...Reut's powerful program at KCI will change your world!"

How Does the Self-Paced Format Work?

The self-paced format is designed to give you maximum flexibility. You can pick your own start date and attend live Q&A & discussion sessions to explore applications based on your availability and progress.

Regardless of which self-paced option you choose (option 1 or option 2), once you sign up and immerse yourself in the online materials, you will first attend 1 to 2 "Starter Sessions". These initial sessions cover basic definitions such as "what is resistance from a neuroscience perspective?" or "what do we mean by the term Unlearning?" Once you have the basic neuroscience definitions in your pocket, you'll pick times to attend the more advanced Q&A and discussion sessions to explore applications. Simply follow the 3 steps below:

Step 1: Sign up and start exploring online materials

This program offers groundbreaking practical knowledge about the meeting point of advanced neuroscience and coaching (with extensive applications for change facilitation in general). You'll start by immersing yourself in the materials. It'll first be you, your computer, and maybe a cup of tea. You'll want to complete module 1 (and maybe also module 2) of the provided online materials. You'll only join us for your first live session after you have fully explored those modules.

Step 2: Join a Starter Session

For the very first live session/s you attend we will explore concepts from a neuroscience perspective (terms like resistance may sound very familiar, but they have different definitions from a neuroscience perspective):

  • What is resistance to change?

  • What is Unlearning and what specifically do we need to unlearn?

  • Which parts of the brain need to be engaged for change and transformation to be sustainable?

  • What are neuroscience-based skills?

Starter sessions are 60-90 minutes long and are typically offered every month (two options are available to accommodate different time zones):

Once you feel comfortable with the more conceptual foundation, the next step will be to continue making progress with the modules (with your cup of tea) but now, you'll pick times to attend the advanced Q&A discussion sessions to explore applications.

Thursdays at 9:00am Pacific/ 12:00pm Eastern (afternoon/evening hours in Europe and similar time zones).

Thursdays at 2:00pm Pacific/ 5:00pm Eastern (Friday morning in NZ and similar time zones).

Step 3: Join Advanced Q&A and Discussion Sessions

Advanced Q&A and discussion sessions are also offered on Thursdays (Friday mornings for NZ and similar time zones), and are also 60-90 minutes long, but you'll find they are held much more frequently (typically twice a month instead of once a month) and with many more time options to choose from:

Thursdays at 9:00am Pacific/ 12:00pm Eastern (afternoon/evening hours in Europe and similar time zones).

Thursdays at 2:00pm Pacific/ 5:00pm Eastern (Early Friday morning in NZ and similar time zones).

Thursdays at 11:00am Pacific/ 2:00pm Eastern (evening/night hours in Europe and similar time zones).

Thursdays at 5:00pm Pacific/ 8:00pm Eastern (Friday morning in NZ and similar time zones).

We use an app that makes it super easy to pick what time you wish to attend per session (you can choose different times based on your schedule per session but you will need to sign up at least one week in advance as sessions without attendees are cancelled 48 hours ahead of time).

"I've attended numerous courses in the past and I've often found them to be overly theoretical and/or lacking in practical application and challenge. KCI’s advanced foundations in applied neuroscience did not disappoint...Reut was expertly able to take every and any question, and demonstrate how neuroscience can be applied to real-world challenges...It has provided me with a valuable credible toolkit of strategies that I can use...I would highly recommend this course!"
