ADVANCED FOUNDATIONS IN APPLIED NEUROSCIENCE

SELF-PACED OPTION

What Is a Self-Paced Format?

In one word: Flexibility.

This is the exact same program as the cohort version of the Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience program. The same high quality content, except it is designed for busy experienced coaches who prefer more flexibility.

There are obvious benefits to studying with a consistent cohort in sync. However, if for you being able to start when it works with your schedule and attending sessions at your own learning pace is a better fit (due to a busy schedule or otherwise), the Self-Paced option may be the way to go.

In addition to flexibility, this Self-Paced option maintains a group discussion format + ICF CCEUs.

  • Start anytime and study at your own pace: You can register to start the Self-Paced option anytime. This format allows you to engage with the online modules at your own pace, based on your learning style, your schedule, and your preferences.

  • Same extensive program: Includes 12 modules of content (300+ units) and 33 hours of video content. While the content takes about 2-3 hours per module to go through without interruption, because it is advanced and many students like to take notes (with or without the provided workbooks), in actuality it tends to take 3-7 hours of self-study per module.

  • Highly application-oriented: Please note that while we focus heavily on application, if your questions require an elaborate exploration of a specific case study, we may invite you to schedule your free 1-on-1 bonus session.

  • Time for live Q&A and discussion: Offers a total of 12 discussion hours (four 90 minute live group discussion sessions + access to 6 hours of brilliant past Q&A discussion + case studies + illustrations in recordings).

  • Complete flexibility: Live Q&A & discussion sessions are offered twice a month (multiple times on Thursdays to accommodate different schedules and time zones). Join the session that works for you, when you have questions, wish to discuss applications, and based on your progress and availability.

"THE SINGLE MOST IMPACTFUL CAPABILITY I HAVE ADDED TO MY COACHING PRACTICE."

"As an experienced coach with multiple certifications...The approach is distinct from any other, powerful, energizing, and genuinely refreshing...The format is more demanding than typical online courses but produces deeper learning...In a world where many people have repeatedly attempted and failed to create lasting behavioral change, this method offers a credible and science based path forward. It restores hope where repeated attempts have eroded it."

FAQ:

Curriculum?

You can access the program curriculum here.

Time investment?

The course covers 12 modules. Each module takes anywhere from 3-7 hours to complete (depending on your learning style and the degree to which you like to take notes). If you are looking for a lighter program, please consider one of KCI's short self-study courses.

Prerequisites?

While some participants have extensive neuroscience background (at times even PhDs), you will NOT be at any disadvantage, even if you have no prior neuroscience background!

Location?

Online + Virtual - using Zoom video conferencing.

Practice?

The scope of this program does not leave us with any time to practice (KCI offers a 10-month practicum for this purpose). However, you will be able to take away numerous, immediately applicable, new AAN techniques and models. See what past participants say about their takeaways from this course here.

Test or evaluation?

Gaining ICF credits requires writing a paragraph to illustrate you understand the materials but there is no test.

What is the benefit in practice?

Graduates of this program will tell you that it taught them HOW to coach clients to unlearn and relearn some of the most difficicult-to-change emotional subconscious patterns. If you'd like to know what this means specifically, please reach out. We'll happily share specific examples and context!

I work with neurodivergent clients, will this program be relevant for me?

Yes, very much so. This program focuses heavily on how people respond to emotional discomfort, and as such, it is hugely relevant when it comes to supporting clients with ADHD, Autism, and other types of neurodivergent brains.

I use other coaching modalities, can AAN be combined with other approaches?

Honestly, it depends. AAN seamlessly complements many coaching approaches and modalities, but not all. Please reach out to us to share which coaching models you already master and which modalities you have a preference for. We'll happily and very transparently share where (in our experience) AAN will likely meet with your existing preferences.

My coaching practice focuses on a specific niche, will this program be relevant for me?

Very likely yes, but do ask us for specific context to be sure. Since this advanced program focuses on the science of transformation, it applies to numerous change areas such as: effective communication, resilience, empathy, conflict resolution, psychological safety, racism and other DEI&B related topics, as well as to improvement areas like empowerment, curiosity and creativity, decision-making, and growth-mindset. Furthermore, it is equally relevant for executive coaching and life coaching, as well as for supporting young adults and more senior professionals.
