AAN Foundations Program

The Advanced Applied Neuroscience Foundations course is where experienced executive and life coaches learn to see difficult change differently.

The Foundations course doesn't simply teach you more about the brain. It changes the way you understand (and therefore coach) difficult human change.

If this is your first introduction to AAN, the Foundations course is where everything comes together. Start here to understand the foundations before exploring the training and certification pathways.

Choose The Learning Experience That Fits You

All AAN Foundations formats include the same curriculum. Same Foundations, three ways to experience it.

Whichever format you choose, you'll receive the same value. The only difference is the level of flexibility, discussion, and support. There isn't a "best" format - only the one that best fits your schedule, preferred learning style, and the level of interaction you're looking for.

If you prefer:

  • A structured journey with the same small group of experienced coaches - choose the Cohort option.

  • Flexibility, live discussions, and ICF CCEUs - choose the Self-Paced option.

  • Complete independence and learning entirely on your own schedule - choose the Independent Study option.

Common Questions

Is this program relevant if I work with neurodivergent clients? Yes, very much so. This program focuses heavily on how people respond to emotional discomfort, which makes it highly relevant when supporting clients with ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent profiles.

Will this conflict with the coaching model I already use? Honestly, it depends. AAN complements many coaching approaches and modalities, but not all. Reach out and share what you already use. We'll happily tell you with complete transparently where it's likely to fit.

Do I need a neuroscience background? No. Some participants come in with a PhD in the subject; many have never studied it at all. Both groups do equally well.

How rigorous is the material? Content is organized in a highly accessible way and designed for intuitive learning. However, the course is designed for experienced coaches. It does not cover coaching basics, the scope is substantial, and the level of rigor is fairly high. Learning requires open exploration and curiosity. You'll be expected to question some of your assumptions and access deep levels reflection and vulnerability).

"AN INCREDIBLY INTENSIVE JOURNEY WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO ABSORB AND PROCESS PROFOUND INSIGHTS."

"This experience has not only expanded my knowledge but also transformed the way I support my clients...Significantly, it has enhanced my ability to help clients navigate difficult change..."

Where Does This Lead?

Ready to sign up, or still deciding?

I know what I want and ready to sign up:

I have a few questions and would  like to talk it through first:

Most graduates complete the AAN Foundations and put it straight to work with clients.

Some go further: Foundations is the first of three steps toward becoming a Certified Advanced Applied Neuroscience Coach (AANC), a 10-month hands-on practicum with 1-on-1 mentoring. To explore the certification path:

We believe there are many excellent programs out there. We believe you know yourself best and we'd rather give you everything you need to make the choice that's right for you than convince you of anything.
