ADVANCED FOUNDATIONS IN APPLIED NEUROSCIENCE

Advanced Applied Neuroscience supports transformation when insight and awareness are not enough

When it comes to coaching individuals and teams, sometimes developing insight and awareness is not enough. This advanced program is designed to equip experienced coaches and senior change facilitators with breakthrough neuroscience know-how to support transformation when developing awareness and insight is not enough.

As an experienced coach or change facilitator you've completed relevant certifications, degrees, or trainings (even other neuroscience-based ones). Would Advanced Applied Neuroscience provide your clients with any added value?

If you are looking for next level mastery (specifically a mind-blowing, in-depth understanding of how to use neuroscience to support clients when change is difficult), explore how to:

  • Seamlessly allow your coaching clients to bypass self-sabotaging mechanisms so they can gain access to their unique authentic self in an accepting and empowering way.

  • Support individual or team coaching clients to shift from talking ABOUT transformation, to adopting changes in a sustainable way.

  • Engage the transformation system in the brain (knowing when, why, and how to engage different parts of the brain to best support transformation) and support clients to overcome different types of resistance to change.

  • Supplement your rich knowledge and experience with Advanced Applied Neuroscience techniques to best navigate and overcome the most difficult aspects of change and transformation.

This advanced program focuses on the scientific building blocks of transformation and threads in Top 10 Neuroscience-based models, to give you specific, applicable tools and techniques.

Will I Love This Program?

This is a highly application-oriented, cutting-edge, advanced, comprehensive, small group program. It is unique in scope, depth, and complexity and we lovingly accept that it is not right for everyone:

  • Combining Neuroscience with application: Understanding brain areas and systems (Hippocampus, Amygdala, BNST, Insula, and Anterior Cingulate Cortex, just to name a few) and on HOW to use this knowledge to support transformation is shared in a clear, applicable, and concise way designed for different learning styles.

  • Intensive and comprehensive: Difficult change is complex and we cover introduction to the applications of multiple neuroscience-based models. The course covers 12 modules (each takes anywhere from 3-7 hours to complete depending on your learning style and the degree to which you like to take notes). If you are looking for a lighter program, please consider one of KCI's short self-study courses.

Unlearning, Neuroscience of Transformation, Advanced Applied Neuroscience for coaching and change facilitation

  • Cutting edge: If you are already very happy with your existing toolkit and not interested in advanced techniques (specifically to support difficult aspects of change and transformation) this program may not be right for you.

  • Coaching First: While KCI offers individual and team coaching certifications, from a Neuroscience POV all change starts with individuals in mind. If you do not coach individuals at all as part of your practice, although the principles of individual change obviously transfer to team coaching, you may find this program less relevant.

This program is NOT more of the same.

Past participants will tell you that it will provide you with new breakthrough techniques (this holds true even if you are highly experienced and have participated in many other programs, including other neuroscience-based ones!).

It is designed to supplement and enhance your rich knowledge and experience, allow you to understand resistance to change in ways you never did before, and show you how to intentionally facilitate transformation with the brain in mind (know which brain parts to engage for which purpose and how to engage each part). It will enhance your ability to make a tremendously positive impact when change is difficult, in ways you didn't have access to before.

Since this program is designed for advanced learners, it does not repeat foundations covered by other programs. Furthermore, while we will draw on your rich experience and knowledge, the learning will require open exploration and curiosity, may challenge some of your assumptions, and cohort members are often asked to have deep levels reflection and vulnerability (for an in-depth view of the program's curriculum by module click here).

Focus on Application

Since this program focuses on the science of transformation, it applies to numerous change areas such as:

Effective communication, resilience, empathy, conflict resolution, psychological safety, racism and other DEI&B related topics, as well as to improvement areas like empowerment, curiosity and creativity, decision-making, and growth-mindset

Why Is This Program Considered Advanced?

The field of applied neuroscience offers three main types of programs:

  • Descriptive: Sharing the science itself and describing how things work in the brain.

  • Traditional: Highlighting where neuroscience supports the way we do things when we use traditional coaching and change facilitation models.

  • Advanced: Using new scientific findings to supplement traditional models. The main focus of programs in this category is to ask "how do we use new scientific research (not yet included in the context of traditional programs) to support transformation?"

  • May or may not have background in neuroscience (past cohort members range from having a PhD in neuroscience to having to background in neuroscience at all). The program will provide you with everything you need to know about how the brain works in the specific context of change adoption and transformation.

Certificate of Completion

The Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience course is the first of 3 steps required in order to complete the certification as an Advanced Applied Neuroscience Coach (AANC).

KCI will not provide you with a certification as an AANC without the two additional practicum steps. However, satisfactory completion of this program will award you with a certificate: Completing the Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience program.

This is a hige-value, comprehensive, extensive, and intensive program. It is focused on providing you with the most advanced knowledge about neuroscience-based models, techniques, and tools. â€‹However, please note that while this program is highly application-oriented, it is not a certification program in the sense that you will not be coached or mentored to use models and techniques (there simply isn't enough time to cover all the knowledge we need to share with you and practice it as well).
