ADVANCED FOUNDATIONS IN APPLIED NEUROSCIENCE
COHORT OPTION

For almost two decades, KCI trained and certified hundreds of coaches and change facilitators who prefer a cohort experience. This is where you get the most dedicated in-depth insight into the genius of advanced neuroscience applications.
There are clear benefits to a continuous discussion with a consistent small cohort that goes through the material together in sync. You'll be learning together, build a wonderful sense of community, and have more rewarding discussions.
However, this option does require a BIG time commitment to the group and to keeping up with self-study materials, and hence provides less flexibility. Some people prefer the accountability and structure this format provides but it also means staying on top of the materials and attending scheduled live discussion sessions (although it's perfectly ok to miss a session here and there and sessions are recorded).
What Is The Cohort Format?

What Makes This Program So Unique?
KCI offers 3 formats of the Foundations in Applied Neuroscience program. If you haven't yet, please read this general page to get an overall understanding of the program first: click here.

One of the main factors that makes the Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience program unique, is its focus on 3 key processes: neuroplasticity, memory reconsolidation, and Unlearning.

-
Neuroplasticity: The brain's ability to change neurosynaptic pathways (this can happen as a result of various reasons including different types of learning, forgetting, unlearning, etc.).

-
Memory reconsolidation: This is a specific subgroup within the neuroplasticity category. Unlike creating new memories, we need to understand how to alter past experience-based memories for change to occur (this can include changing any pattern in the brain from how we play a sport more effectively to how we make decisions).

-
Unlearning: This is a subgroup within the memory reconsolidation category, when there are numerous, strong, experience-based, emotional links making the pre-existing patterns extra difficult to change.

This course is uniquely designed for experienced coaches and change facilitators who wish to dive in to fully understand how Advanced Applied Neuroscience supports Unlearning.

What Do You Need to Know?
The cohort experience of the Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience:

-
Is offered only twice per year: Typically starting in March and October on Tuesdays at 10:00am Pacific/ 1:00pm Eastern (open also to our clients in Europe and similar time zones - for clients in Australia and similar time zones, please check our Self-Paced option).

-
Sessions are held by-weekly: You'll want to complete 12 comprehensive online self-study modules and attend 7 live sessions to discuss the material and explore applications.

-
Requires 3-7 hours of self-study per week: While it takes about 2-3 hours to go through each of the 12 online modules without interruption, because the content is comprehensive and advanced, and because many students like to take a lot of notes (you will be provided with workbooks), in actuality it tends to take 3-7 hours of self-study per week to prepare for live sessions. Please note that as experienced coaches, many of our students are very busy. If your schedule will likely not permit you to dedicate 3-7 hours of self-study per week (on top of committing to attend the live sessions), please consider the Self-Paced format instead.
-
The material can be challenging and will sometimes require stretching your prior assumptions about "basic" coaching concepts like resistance or Unlearning.

-
Highly application-oriented (if your questions require an elaborate exploration of a specific case study, we may invite you to schedule your free 1-on-1 bonus session).

-
Live sessions are 90 minute long, limited to 3-6 participants per cohort, and focused on processing examples and integrating the content together.

-
Recorded and available for your review.

"WILL CHANGE YOUR WORLD!"
"After almost 17 years practicing as an ICF trained and certified coach and 12 years as a practicing Organizational Development practitioner...I didn't "get it" until I came to Reut at KCI. I thought I understood the neuroscientific principles of change but I was missing a key piece and now that I have access to advanced applied neuroscience, it's a whole different story."

"A VALUABLE TOOLKIT"
"I've attended numerous courses in the past and I've often found them to be overly theoretical and/or lacking in practical application and challenge. KCI’s advanced foundations in applied neuroscience did not disappoint...Reut was expertly able to take every and any question, and demonstrate how neuroscience can be applied to real-world challenges...I would highly recommend this course!"
