AAN Foundations
Learn to See the Layer Beneath Difficult Change
The Advanced Applied Neuroscience (AAN) Foundations course is for experienced executive and life coaches who already know how to coach and want a more precise way to understand what may be maintaining difficult patterns when insight, motivation, and good coaching are not enough.
While the Second Look Lab is designed to start seeing the underlying layer that gets coaching stuck, the Foundations course focuses on the in-depth neuroscience application of how to rewire those deep emotional patterns.
This course doesn't simply teach you more about the brain. It changes the way you understand (and therefore coach) difficult human change.
"INSTRUMENTAL TO MY PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL GROWTH."
"This incredibly thoughtful, well-researched and thoroughly resourced program seamlessly blended weekly, self-paced learning modules and exercises with a highly interactive and intimate, weekly, virtual seminar forum."

Is This a Challenge You Want to Look At?
-
Your client recognizes the pattern and still repeats it. They understand the challenge but still feel stuck.
-
Despite meaningful conversations you keep circling the same issue.
-
Several explanations fit and you are not sure which one should guide the coaching.
-
Accountability, insight, or reframing have helped, but the change does not hold when it matters.
The same type of transformation challenges or lack of follow-through can have different reasons. Foundations helps you examine when a learned response to emotional discomfort may be the cause. It will allow you to explore what else needs to be considered from a neuroscience perspective, and how that understanding can guide your next coaching move.
Not sure yet? Take a look at the type of challenges the AAN discipline focuses on (and as importantly, what it does not):
What The Foundations Course Adds
AAN does not replace the methods you already use. It adds a neuroscience-informed layer for understanding threat, prediction, emotional discomfort, learned patterns, and the conditions that make transformation more or less likely.
The course also explores learned threat responses such as pleasing, controlling, avoiding, or self-judgment, and how coaches can support the unlearning and relearning of these deep emotional patterns.
Want to learn more about what type of threat responses are "factory installed" or set vs. which ones are learned and changeable? Explore the What is AAN? page or ask us for materials about the neuroscience of threat.

"This experience has not only expanded my knowledge but also transformed the way I support my clients...Significantly, it has enhanced my ability to help clients navigate difficult change..."

Compare Three Formats
The AAN Foundations course is offered in three formats to support different learning prefernces.
All three formats share the same core curriculum. They differ in schedule, live support, group interaction, price, and ICF continuing education eligibility. Compare these differences before choosing the format that fits your learning needs.
Please note: Foundations provides a certificate of completion. Becoming certified as an Advanced Applied Neuroscience Coach (AANC) is a separate mentored practicum after Foundations.
"A VALUABLE TOOLKIT"
"I've attended numerous courses in the past and I've often found them to be overly theoretical and/or lacking in practical application and challenge...This course demonstrates how neuroscience can be applied to real-world challenges...I would highly recommend this course!"
