Focus on Application

The general field of Applied Neuroscience offers three main types of programs:

Descriptive: Focusing on the science and how things work in the brain (for example: how creativity works in the brain).

Traditional: Highlighting where neuroscience findings support traditional coaching and change facilitation models (focusing primarily on awareness and engaging the Prefrontal Cortex).

Advanced: Diving bravely into new neuroscience findings to supplement traditional models. Offers new solutions to some of the most challenging aspects of change and transformation (focusing on aspects like Unlearning and how to correctly engage the whole transformation system in the brain).

All three types of programs are valuable and much needed!

Since this advanced program focuses on the science of transformation, it applies to numerous change areas such as: Effective communication, resilience, empathy, conflict resolution, psychological safety, racism and other DEI&B related topics, as well as to improvement areas like empowerment, curiosity and creativity, decision-making, and growth-mindset.

Most cohort members are:

Experienced coaches and change facilitators (often with relevant higher degrees or certifications by ICF, CTI, CCE, ACMP, and similar organizations).

Already familiar with relevant traditional individual coaching or team coaching models, and often also with mastery other neuroscience-based models (although no previous background in neuroscience is needed!).

May or may not have background in neuroscience (past cohort members range from having a PhD in neuroscience to having to background in neuroscience at all). The program will provide you with everything you need to know about how the brain works in the specific context of change adoption and transformation.

The Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience course is the first of 3 steps required in order to complete the certification as an Advanced Applied Neuroscience Coach (AANC).

KCI will not provide you with a certification as an AANC without the two additional practicum steps. However, satisfactory completion of this program will award you with a certificate: Completing the Advanced Foundations in Applied Neuroscience program.

This is a hige-value, comprehensive, extensive, and intensive program. It is focused on providing you with the most advanced knowledge about neuroscience-based models, techniques, and tools. However, please note that while this program is highly application-oriented, it is not a certification program in the sense that you will not be coached or mentored to use models and techniques (there simply isn't enough time to cover all the knowledge we need to share with you and practice it as well).
